Teknikum participates in Tampere University’s Industrial Sales development project

Teknikum is participating in Tampere University’s Industrial Sales Development Project, which aims to strengthen B2B sales competence within the Finnish manufacturing sector and to establish modern training models that reflect the industry’s evolving needs. The project brings together industrial companies and academic experts to create a shared understanding of how industrial sales is changing and what capabilities will be required in the future.

Industrial sales is undergoing significant transformation due to digitalization, customer-driven design, and global competition. Through the project, companies and students gain access to research-based methods as well as practical examples of what modern solution selling and technical B2B sales require. Tampere University provides the pedagogical structure and academic foundation for the training, while participating companies, including Teknikum, contribute real-world insights from different industrial fields.

For Teknikum, joining this initiative supports the company’s strategic goal to develop sales competence and deepen customer understanding across the organization. Industrial sales plays an increasingly important role in long-term customer relationships, tailored solutions and value-adding services. Collaboration with the university and other companies enables the identification of new approaches and the exchange of best practices across the industry.

The training and workshops are already underway, offering participants opportunities to explore topics such as sales process development, customer value analysis, and the creation of industrial service concepts. For companies, the project delivers concrete tools for improving sales performance and preparing future sales professionals with the capabilities needed in a changing industrial landscape.

From Teknikum’s perspective, the initiative is an important contribution to strengthening industrial competence in Finland and supporting the availability of skilled sales professionals in the coming years. The cooperation with Tampere University deepens the connection between industry and higher education and promotes the development of knowledge that benefits the entire manufacturing ecosystem.
