Teknikum to sponsor Finnish national team in men’s artistic gymnastics

The Finnish Gymnastics Federation and Teknikum Group have signed a two-year cooperation agreement, by which Teknikum will become a partner and sponsor of the men’s artistic gymnastic national team.

 

“Teknikum’s partnership is a really welcome additional support for men’s artistic gymnastics,” says Mr. Kasper Holopainen, the Finnish Gymnastics Federation’s Technical Director of Men’s Artistic Gymnastics. “The precondition for the development of our top gymnasts is to train and compete internationally with the top athletes of other countries. With the cooperation, we can support the efforts of our national gymnasts of different ages towards their own dreams,” continues Mr. Holopainen.

 

The co-operation supports the coaching and competition activities of the national team, such as training camps and development work. The men’s national gymnastics team currently includes a total of 47 gymnasts. The national team consists of the men’s national team (11 gymnasts), the youth national team group (14 gymnasts) and the under-14 national team group (22 gymnasts).

 

From the beginning, the cooperation was based on a common world of values, goals and denominators

 

Responsibility and safety are key, both in Teknikum’s business and in the everyday life of a demanding gymnastics. Responsibility in gymnastics means that everyone involved in the sport has a safe, positive and learning-friendly environment in which to train, succeed and gain experience together. In addition, flexible, elastic and durable describe both the gymnast and the elastomers, of which Teknikum is an expert and manufacturer. The will to succeed internationally in fierce competition also unites both.

Finnish Men’s Artistic Gymnastics national team includes e.g. athletes Oskar Kirmes (all-round), who participated in the Rio Olympics, Emil Soravuo, who won the floor exercise European Championship gold in 2019, and European Championship finalists Elias Koski (all-round) and Joonas Kukkonen (rings). The strong team also includes Robert Kirmes, Patrick Palmroth, Eeli Mikkola, Tarmo Kanerva, Pavel Titov, Akseli Karsikas and Niila Sinivuori, who are expected to perform on a high level during the upcoming competition season. The Finnish National Championships will be held on September 17-19, 2021 in Oulu.
